Hi everyone. I thought it would be cool to start an endless post about quotes by famous magicians related to any form or subject of Magic. I think that it would be a great resource for all of us to use here and there.

If we all contribute to it, it might end up being very useful. Here is my first contribution:

When a great magician was asked to write a book about magic his answer was

"My main objection is that there is so much to be said, even on the subject of playing cards alone, that I just don't know where to begin"

Dai Vernon

"He is undoubtedly the most inspiring magical experience we have had in this country for many a long day...his ideas and sincerity will have a tremendous influence on British magic in the future"

Harry Stanley summing up Dai Vernon's tour around England in 1955

"Practiceing is a lot like a bank. If you don't put anything in, you won't get anything out" -Dai Vernon

"Be Natural and use your head" -Dai Vernon

These are two I'm sure my friend Johny 5 would like to see up here. They are copied directly from his profile.

"...of course you might be asking yourself why rip the card up if I'm just going to put it back together again .... but then please keep in mind that it isn't nearly as impressive to put the card back together again if I first haven't torn it up ..."

Paraphrased from Guy Hollingsworth

" .... Sir , have you ever heard of the term elbow grease ... SIR , have you ever heard that if a donkey flies up your nose and you rub your elbow then you must water with the donkey ... "

from David Acer

"When something begins to be questioned, it has become a reality in the mind of someone"

Theres some more for you David,

Hey, who said that ???

There have been some really good ones so far. Here are a couple more really random ones to add to the list.

"The expert magician seeks to deceive the mind, rather than the eye." - Sol Stein

"To be a great magician, one must be able to present an illusion in such a way that people are not olny puzzled, but deeply moved." - S.H. Sharp

I aint what you would call famous, but my favourite saying is, "The things that you regret the most in life, are the risks which you dont take"

In a discussion on why potatos, lemons and bananas are funny to an audience, while apples and oranges are not.

Dai Vernon: "I think the reason why people find bananas amusing is because they slip on banana peels..."

Michael Ammar: *in a low voice* "I think there may be another reason to why they find bananas funny..."
