If anybody ever asks me how I feel about the Masked Magician, I think I will show them this:

As a side comment, notice the cleverly constructed deck switch. Totally undetectable.

| HA HA HA... this is the perfect video to show people how I feel about the MM! I mean if this guy can't do a self working card trick then why is he revealing stuff? (not that you should anyway) Things just don't add up lol...

My 7 year-old even knows how that is supposed to be done. I especially appreciate many things about this video: that he boldly assumes that no one will notice that he pulled out the wrong pre-staged deck and whips out a new one, that he found the "5th Ace", that he doesn't even understand how the self-working trick works as demonstrated by his looking through the first and second stacks for the missing aces, and that he cannot cull worth a poop {twice shown when he comes up short on the aces and that the "5th" ace was actually six cards down.
The looks on the women's faces were priceless. They seem to say, "Hey, I'm right here; I can see what you are doing. How is this magic?"
I will say that this could be a good video for a class on how to perform an effect. No, I did not stutter.
Once the video is shown, the lesson or take away is the importance of not saying ahead of time what the expected outcome is or what you will do next. Even as a total rube, he almost pulls off a recovery of a severely botched attempt to show prowess of ledgerdemain.
Check that out in your Funk and Wagnal.

LOL oh when I seen this I was thinking how can this be magic?
To me it was like asking someone to think of a card then going
through the entire deck and asking "is this it?"
Priceless....

Well...I finally forced myself to watch that.
That he buggered that up so badly is amazing (dumbfounding actually). What I really found enlightening and bothersome was that even from the get go he had absolutely no presence as a magician (in patter, personality, posture, you name it) and that in general he handled the cards like most ten year olds.
To be honest, it ticks me off whenever someone that boring and inept as a magician performs magic for the public. I am serious when I say that it gives the entire magic profession a black eye. That performance will be embedded in people's minds and it worries me that many will come to believe that what they saw is typical.
Pathetic.
