| 5 month? Don't worry, it took me about 5 years to overcome that problem. And another 5 years to have working repertoire that I can do whilst sleeping.

yep that's it ecneret, just keep on practising your tricks until you can do them blindfolded, and just go out there and get every experience you can get mate.
it will get better and better, but the first rule is practising your tricks until you can do them "whilst sleeping"
all the best

As Roland said, 5 months isnt long to get over nerves.
Try this:
1) get your routines untill you can do them in your sleep.
2) develop some opening lines to break the ice, get used to using peoples names and try to shake hands with people to help get rapport.
3) ENJOY IT!!!!!!. when you enjoy the magic, so will your audience.
4) try to do the easy tricks in your routine first.
5) before you perform, do some deep breathing. take a deep breath in, hold it for a few seconds and let it out slowly. repeat this 3-5 times.
Above all else, get out there and perform and you will become used to performing.
Best of luck!!!!

| Ahh...I used to have the same thing. I'd say, pick your audience wisely, and make sure YOU HAVE CONTROL!!! Having control of the aduience makes everything much easier.

| If you don't get nervous before starting then there is something wrong.

Being nervous before a show is good, it keeps you on edge. Some say that if you arent nervous, then you no longer care about what you are doing.
It just takes time to get over it, but you must use that time to practice. When I started, I performed a lot to my family. They always encouraged me, and over time my confidence grew. After a while, I started to perform for others too, and then you forget about the nerves. Good luck!!

| Don't worry they are just people. If you are young they understand few mistakes. Do easy tricks on routines. I have been in to magic for 4 years and I haven't seen necessary to make very difficult tricks. Magic is not that what you make, it's it what audiance see. Relaxing is too good to try slowly breathing is quite well to do it.

I agree. You are doing magic not them. You make sure when you talk they listen. When you tell them to hold there hand like this, they do it. You must be in CONTROL. once you feel like your in control, the more you do it you will have confidence. Its like riding a bike. Once you learn to perform properly you will never forget.
