Oh thanks, but I don't know that it's really something yet. It's just an idea quickly expressed through a video, but It seems like a presentational twist that ought to be available to us should we choose to use it (i.e. I've never seen "The deck changes to a whole NEW color") . You guys should check out the ideas Laurent pitched on the trick, maybe someone more technical than me could revamp the handling. Tim, are you game? That'd be a great way to turn this into a collaborative process. Your job now is to take this rough handling and make it stronger. As mentionned, Laurent has some great ideas on how to do that.

Aramis

Thats a great idea, if you want me to I'm game.

I think this version is 100% better then the last it is still missing something. The deck changing to blue is good but it was done on a off beat and with no explanation of why. you rubed the first card on the mat to change it. and it was the focous at the time but with the blue spoon that was different I feel becasue the spoon and one card was the focous but the deck was in the background or off stage. you said your patter then the one card did'nt change then you just spread the deck. To me there was no connection.....your close keep at it please.

I will take this on if you take my X card trick.

Tim

Well this is basically a completely different trick Tim... You're welcome to include any magical motions you want. There are various effects/moments in magic where the most appropriate magical gesture is no gesture at all, I thought this was one of those moments, maybe I was wrong.

The spoon was just a joke you know, it just happened that I had a blue spoon, so it'd be nice to use the spoon.

I see that Tim is also concerned about the lack of "why?".  I am a big fan of "Why?", trying to justify every action.
Now, I had a long chat with Aramis yesterday, and if I understand it correctly, he wants to go against the why-rule and exactly do the opposite, go totally random.
I think it is an awesome take, though I don't think it was delivered at its best in this routine.  If you wanna go random, then jump into it with both your feet and let it shine all the way.  I think Duvivier as a card routine like that where everything that happens touches the unexpected.  He even got his fingerprints on the cards at one point.

i used the Imovie, and there's no save function. i'm so confused lol.
i tried uploading.
i went to the upload section and then browsed through my folder and found the original saved filed that has no introduction edited in or anything, but the thing is, i'd like to upload the one that i edited with the intro etc, but i don't know how to save it so that i can upload it.
help?
it doesn't show a save tutorial on the apple website.
thanks a lot!

Hey Sagar

There are some tutorials on YouTube that show you how to edit and save in iMovie, the ones from user "expertvillage" look easy to follow http://uk.youtube.com/results?search_query=how+to+use+apple+imovie&search_type=&aq=f

the guy is showing the method on an older version..
the current one i have, is 2008 and it doesn't have those options.
i think i might have to put it on youtube and send a link as it says "share to youtube" and by clicking it, it uploads straight to my youtube account (i dunno how, pretty crazy)
but yea..
if that's ok with you guys that is..

Wow you brought back a dinosaur of a forum post...lol

First I want to say I really like the whole invisible theme you had going, each effect was stronger then the next. I feel in the second effect the second batch of cards was over kill you lost me there for a minute. I know its hard to perform a routine like this for camera and if I was going to guess I would use the routine for a parlor show or something like that, not walk around too long. If I was going to do this I would take out one of the phases and just go with two of them. The first and the last. For now until you get use to it then add another. After you get a feel for it from your spectators.

I believe your onto something here I would keep tweaking this more I really like what you have going here, now just need to be refine more.

Presentation is so hard but it makes or breaks you.

Presentation 3/5

Structure 4/5

sleights 4/5

I would concentrate on the presentation now.

Thanks allot for doing this I hope you learned something out of it while combining effects into a routine or set.

hey, thanks for the advice.
i'm a little confused.
the second trick is las vegas leaper by paul harris, where the cards go into the spectator's hands 2 times.
i guess it's confusing cause i couldn't portray it as well. maybe with a spectator it wouldn't be so complicated..
but i guess instead of that, i could throw in
the visitors by jennings.
thanks for that. i'll work on presentation. lets see what i come up with to upload later.
thanks again.
Sagar
