Hey y'all,
I have no idea if anyone remembers me (except for the staff, those who probably don't even want to remember me) but I thought, let me make a new account since my old one got deleted after asking for that lots and lots of times.
But seriously, what happened? Other than Ellusionist, this used to be the best known magic site, and thé best known magic forums.
Now I know I am partially responsible for this because the whole "higher-ranked members vs Mystery Mark" thing made LOTS of my supporters leave as soon as I left and when there was this bug where the staff forums got visible for everyone and they all read what those people were saying (or rather gossiping) about me.
I still have a list of 82 MVD'ers on MSN and I know only 3 of them still check this site out now and then. What happened?! How can this site not be so popular anymore, yet everyone who once registered still reminds it?!

There have been a few threads dealing with this question. I believe someone recently even compared the forum to a ghost town!
I for one am growing weary with hearing only the echo of my keyboard when I visit this place. I don't know why things have quieted down the way they have. I suspect there are many more like me, lurking in the background and waiting for something to happen...
I suspect the competition has cast a magic spell over MVD

Well I have posted in a couple of forums over the last few weeks, and as of today, some are still showing the last post as my one ! how slow has this place become ?
Waiting patiently for it to pick up again.........

If the forum is going to get busier it's up to us the members to make that happen. Sure the powers that be have let it go by the wayside and haven't done some things they could have but ultimately the members will determine how busy the forums are here. I'm hearing a lot of "I'm going to wait and see what happens" and "I know so many people who are members but don't post anymore" in this thread and others recently. Really? Don't wait and see what happens- Participate! Invite members you know to come back and post and give it another shot.
I don't know that this forum was ever the biggest magic related one out there, but it certainly was up there with MagicTalk and the Cafe. But things ebb and flow. MagicTalk was one of the best but is now defunct for example. So what has happened here could just be part of the cyclical nature of these things, who knows? But I do know that ultimately the success of failure of the site is up to its members and the choices they make to either stay and be part of the solution or give up and leave, making the failure a self fulfilling prophesy in a way.

I have been a member for about 5-6 years now, so have no intention of giving up.
That said, I do moderate on another magic web site and, admin on another so, time is somewhat limited as to how much I can spend on here;
In the last few weeks I have posted a few posts but ! the site seems so empty , not like the old days; But we can live in hope, I will call Erick, Don and a couple of the old guys and, see if we cant generate some more traffic in the forums.

| I just joined so i don't know if I have a say in the matter but surely, if all the current active members start to post new topics, i'm sure we could get MVD back in flow. Its all a matter of trying.
