I am NOT a big illusion guy, but this idea hit me the other day. It really seems like the kind of thing Angel would do, and as it isn't really my bag, I thought I'd let one of you big illusion guys in on it.
You stand there, and spontaneously your clothes erupt in flames, they burn for a few seconds while you examine yourself. There is a pyrotechnic explosion, ala Criss Angel's Metamorphisis, and when the fire clears all that is left is a pile of ash about 6 inches high and 5 feet wide. A few moments go by and there appears to be some movement in the ashes an arm emerges, a head, a torso and finally, your entire body. Soot covered and clothing charred.
Tell me Criss wouldn't do this, I mean, it's pretty much combining his Birthday Candy illusion, with metamorphisis, and then a Buried Alive/Copperfield in the condemned building ending.
I just thought it would be cool to re-enact some mythology, plus it would be emotionally strong.

Also I do not believe it could be uploaded because it has flames, and MVD does not upload any videos with such illusions that if performed wrong it could hurt themselves becuase it is a well nature site and does not want to promote that type of magic, in other words to look out for the other magicians on the site so people don't try things and hurt themselves.

ROFLMAO
You kiddies do understand that magic can be done that isn't uploaded on this site?
Besides, to do the illusion right, it would require several thousand dollars...I'm not suggesting that some 14-year-old light themselves on fire, but if, by some fluke there are some serious stage guys who frequent this site, they now have an idea that I would never use.
Besides, I think it is only a matter of time before Criss puts 2 and 2 together and does it himself.
Just a hunch.
I repeat, do not light yourselves on fire.

Nope, just his metamorphisis from what I saw of the trailer. But if he ever does perform it, I may switch from card work to mentalism.
And sorry Don, it had to be done....

I read awhile back or maybe it is still going on that he is having a metamorphasis contest.
Peace.

My bad. I mistook your first post. I thought you had an idea that you were trying to create. Sorry about that.

| Yes it would be cool (and quite original) to re enact some mythology. It would have to be done by someone with the right sort of personality though. Can you imagine the flak that Criss Angel or David Blaine would get if they tried it? "Ooooh, so now he thinks he's some kind of demi-god does he?"

Unless I'm mistaken that's EXACTLY the image they are both trying to present.

| Yes, that's the image they try to present, but they don't do it very convincingly!
