Hi all,

just a quick idea I've been toying with. I'm thinking of making a magic table. I was intending on getting a cymbal stand (a sturdy single bracer) and using this as the base and then attaching a table top to it (plywood with felt over carpet underlay) Table top is looking at 40cm by 27.5cm.

Any ideas?

Well, I made a table like the L&L one. It cost me about $200 for the materials. I made it out of oak and used automotive headliner for the surface. It turned out very well. You could also try out this table http://www.ammarmagic.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=10&products_id=15&zenid=5a08e60e2b3837a68eb927d3f726c48a   The ammar table is easy to build and inexpensive.

Your idea seems fine as well. It all depends on how much money you are willing to spend.

larrybee,
If you look at the table I have in my videos, I had it made, if I had it to do over I would make some changes. I would have changed the back so I could lap off of it. Also you said someting about using a cymbal stand. I'm sure this would work. What I use is a key board stand this "sissors" stand allows me too work standing or seated. If you or anyone would like to see it in more detail just pm me I'll take some pictures and sent them out to ya.

Paulo that is an awesome link :D.

I saw this magician using this little table, which had an adjustable stand, it was held up by one pole in the middle and had a disk at the bottom. On the top was also a round disk which was made out of a kinda more firm closeup mat type material. Im not sure where he got it but if you could find out, they are definitely easily portable and light weight.

Have Fun

I"m making a table 2. Using a Photography stand (tripod) as the legs, as it is easierly protable. With a perpex top. Keep in mind that if your making a table it might as well be gimmicked. Mabey add black art wells to yours? or make it a levitating table.? etc etc
