Hi,

My name is Ben Williams, I live just south of London in a town called Guildford, in the Uk. I first started learning magic about 9 years ago when I was 17, so yes, I did start learning magic when I saw David Blaine. My father bought me the DVD for Christmas and I went out of my box trying to figure the tricks out.
I had always loved magic but it was something I was never in contact with, the only knowledge of magic I had was a Paul Daniels magic set when I was about 8, and I thought a magician was a stage performer like David Copperfield. But when I saw the things David Blaine was doing, WOW, I just had to know.
So here I am 9 years down the line and I am a lot wiser now. I have learned there are so many talented performers out there, all David Blaine was was a showman, who was ballsy and went for it. All credit to the guy, he has sparked an epidemic of magic back into the mainstream. But I have seen a lot more talented people since delving into magic's history and through the internet and magic conventions.
Anyway, magicians and performers I really respect are Jay Sankey (I have learned so much from him and his books,dvd's etc), Derren Brown (a master in his environment), Daryl(as skilled as they come), Penn & Teller(brought the fun and daring into magic), Banachek(an amazing thinker), and there are many more but I'd be here all day! oh not to mention the magicians and performers here!
