This my friend was top notch performing. You look like you had fun the kids sounded like they had fun, and also the parents. What more could you ask for. The dog on the floor didn't bother me a bit, it went with the patter and routine. You did something that alot of people say we should'nt and made it work. (card tricks for kids) You added elements to the trick that every kid can recongize and injoys balloon dogs........ Its all about the journey to the magic and thats what you did!!!!!!!! This is a HUGE keeper in my book. Tim
Making the dog more visible is a good suggestion. You are a spectacular performer and I salute you. I'm not sure I get the comment saying you didn't get a good reaction. One thing I thought was worth mention is right after you take the dog out of the bag. (I love the Ace Ventura reference by the way), you are talking to the audience about the dog. There is at least a good 15 seconds of dead time for Hailey during which you walk back and put her back in the spotlight, and then walk away. I think you could throw in a short piece of interaction with her, just look at her and say "see the doggy hailey?".
I also think the "you should be a dog catcher" line is anticlimactic. I think it would be better to do the bit After everyone starts clapping. It's a good throw away line, but it's not a "finish" I wouldn't mention this, but you ask for improvements and you are clearly at a level where the improvements left to make are this superficial. I'd like to hear your thoughts on this and I would also love to see you share some thoughts with us in the Kids magic section of the forum boards.

My reply- Didn't get a good reaction with the card? You mean the clapping, talking and the guy who says, No way! wasn't enough? Remember the mic on the camera is facing me, not the crowd.
Jumbo cards are very hard to get into balloon dogs.
Yes, it's too hard to see the dog on the floor, a table would be better. I used to do this with the volunteer stepping on the dog and I have recently changed it to the tack (for the lame joke).
It's so refreshing to see a performer entertaining a live audience. I wish I was working as much as you are. Great job! The crowd sounded like they really enjoyed it.
I think Laxersaz has a good point about the dog being on the floor, maybe a small table, even like a doctors table would be great! Is it possible to do with a jumbo card? I know it may be a bit much, but it is worth a try.
amazing, I love it. Maybe slightly too long in the middle part but presentation timing etc were all excellent in my opinion. You certainly kept those kids entertained. I think this effect would work really well with adult audiences too. Keep it up.
